Tandy R. Freeman, M.D.
Sports Injuries
Arthroscopic and Reconstructive Surgery
of the Knee, Shoulder, and Elbow

As medical director of the two top rodeo organizations in the world, Dr. Tandy Freeman has treated some of the toughest and most severely injured athletes – professional bull riders, rodeo cowboys and cowgirls. In this capacity, the West Texan has covered events across the U.S. and in Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and Australia.  He has treated injuries that occur when 2,000 lbs. of raging bull collide with the fragile human body or when the ballet of rider and horse goes awry.

That experience serves him well when diagnosing and treating the debilitating injuries and everyday strains of North Texas athletes of all ages and backgrounds. Dr. Freeman’s specialties are arthroscopic and reconstructive surgeries of the knee, shoulder and elbow.

Beyond rodeo, he was Team Physician of the Dallas Mavericks, where he kept superstars Dirk Nowitzski and Steve Nash in peak condition, was orthopedic consultant to the Dallas Burn, was team physician of the Dallas Freeze of the Central Hockey League and has served as a member of the physician pool to the U.S. Ski Team.
